ES Atlas Menor #3: Unikornios precarios muestra un escenario en el que contrarios a su aparente apertura, los nuevos ecosistemas emprendedores son impermeables a la diversidad de discursos políticos. Su hegemonía cultural, cimentada en el solucionismo tecnológico y la meritocracia, parece colarse en todas las escalas de la vida planetaria sin dejar alternativas. Así, construyen nuestras espacialidades cotidianas en tiempo real.
Los trabajos que reúne este Atlas intentan evidenciar la actualidad de las narrativas mitológicas desde una perspectiva espacial y de la precariedad, al tiempo que propone la existencia de “unikornios precarios” como nuevas formas de organización que rompen con los modelos de gobernanza existentes en rechazo a la obediencia neofeudal.
Diego Morera arquitecto, docente y doctorando en Comunicación Arquitectónica por la ETSAM. Trabaja enfocado en la promoción de la dimensión cultural de la arquitectura como coordinador del programa Usina de Innovación Colectiva y su Festival de Arquitectura, Diseño y Ciudad, como director de research del estudio MAPA y de la iniciativa INST y en otros proyectos de curaduría. Produce videos e investiga en relación al software como infraestructura urbana y a las temporalidades de las tecnologías digitales. Sebastián Lambert es arquitecto y director de proyecto en el estudio MAPA y su iniciativa INST. También realiza proyectos de manera independiente en los que experimenta con nuevos medios y formatos alternativos para construir otras narrativas arquitectónicas, urbanas, culturales y políticas.

La “cultura del peligro” en relación a la precariedad ya no es una condición pasajera, sino que se ha convertido en un régimen que caracteriza nuestra época, en un modo hegemónico en el que ser gobernados y gobernarnos a nosotros mismos. Del inversor de riesgo que especula al repartidor de delivery cuyo sueldo varía según decisiones abstractas, desde el programador que teletrabaja desde su hogar a la trabajadora temporal de un alojamiento turístico de reservas online, vislumbramos diversas y desiguales formas de vivir y morir en tiempo real junto a los unicornios.»

EN Minor Atlas #3. Precarious Unikorns presents a scenario in which, contrary to their apparent openness, new entrepreneurial ecosystems are impervious to the diversity of political discourses. Their cultural hegemony, founded on technological solutionism and meritocracy, seems to seep into every aspect of life on the planet, leaving no room for alternatives. In this way, they shape our everyday spatialities in real time.
The works brought together in this Atlas seek to highlight the relevance of mythological narratives from a spatial and precariousness perspective, whilst proposing the existence of ‘prekarious unicorns’ as new forms of organisation that break with existing models of governance in rejection of neo-feudal obedience.
Diego Morera is an architect, professor, and doctoral candidate in Architectural Communication at ETSAM. He focuses on promoting the cultural dimension of architecture as coordinator of the Usina de Innovación Colectiva program and its Architecture, Design, and City Festival, as research director of the MAPA studio and the INST initiative, and in other curatorial projects. He produces videos and conducts research on software as urban infrastructure and the temporalities of digital technologies. Sebastián Lambert is an architect and project director at the MAPA studio and its INST initiative. He also works independently on projects in which he experiments with new media and alternative formats to construct other architectural, urban, cultural, and political narratives.
«The common denominator of the entities present in the entrepreneurial ecosystem is their exposure to risk or insecurity. The “culture of danger” in relation to precariousness is no longer a passing condition, but has become a regime that characterises our time; a hegemonic way in which to be governed and to govern ourselves. From the venture capitalist investor who speculates to the delivery man whose salary varies according to abstract decisions, from the programmer who telecommutes from home to the temporary worker at a tourist accommodation with online reservations, we glimpse diverse and unequal ways of living and dying in real-time, together. In this sense, Isabell Lorey distinguishes three dimensions of precariousness. The first, precariousness, refers to a socio-ontological dimension of life and designates the existentially shared vulnerability of bodies, human and non-human. Such bodies, precarious and finite, depend on others, on institutions and on protected environments in a social interdependence that can be expressed either as care or as violence. he second denominates precariousness as a category that designates the effects of the historical distribution of a generalized precarious condition that, in a hierarchical way, supposes the protection of some against the precarious and, at the same time, the differential distribution of precariousness among those considered less deserving of such protection with the unicorns.»
